The Foundation for Fitness and Weight Loss
The Foundation
When it comes to fitness and weight loss, many people get overwhelmed by the complexity—workout plans, diets, motivation, and willpower. But it all comes down to something much simpler: the foundation you build, and the decisions you make to support it. Specifically, it’s about how you frame those decisions in your mind.
It’s All About "Do I or Don’t I?"
Every day, you face countless choices that impact your fitness and weight loss journey. Do I get up early to work out, or do I hit the snooze button? Do I choose the salad or the burger? Do I push through the last set, or stop because I’m tired? These moments are pivotal, but they’re also incredibly simple. Each one boils down to a basic question: "Do I or don’t I, am I that person?"
Building a strong foundation isn’t about complicated strategies or extreme discipline. It’s about making the decision, in the moment, to take action that aligns with your goals. The more you choose to act in alignment with who you want to be, the stronger your foundation becomes, and the closer you get to achieving your goals. It’s that straightforward.
The Framing Problem
Here’s where the real challenge lies: how you frame these decisions in your mind. If you view each choice as a struggle, you’re setting yourself up for a constant battle. Every workout, every meal, every healthy choice becomes something you have to fight through. That’s exhausting, and it’s a mindset that’s hard to sustain.
But what if you reframed it? What if, instead of seeing each decision as a battle, you saw it as a step toward building your foundation—the foundation for the person you want to be? This shift in perspective changes everything.
Mastering the Mental Game
The mental game of fitness is a key part of building your foundation. It isn’t just about willpower; it’s about how you frame the choices you make. When you approach each decision with the mindset of your alter ego—the person you aspire to become—you start acting as if you’re already that person. You’re no longer just trying to lose weight or get fit; you’re building the foundation to be strong, fit, and healthy.
This doesn’t mean it’s always easy, but it does make the process clearer. Instead of getting lost in the big picture or overwhelmed by the long journey ahead, you focus on the next decision: "Do I or don’t I, am I that person?" By mastering this framing, you simplify the entire process of fitness and weight loss, making each choice a step toward strengthening your foundation and becoming the person you want to be.
The Accumulation of Small Decisions
What’s powerful about this approach is that over time, these small, simple decisions add up. Each time you choose to act in alignment with your goals, you reinforce the foundation you’re building. And as those decisions accumulate, they lead to significant, lasting results.
The Importance of Real-Time Guidance
However, mastering this framing isn’t always easy, especially when you’re on your own. It’s one thing to understand the concept; it’s another to apply it in the heat of the moment when the decision is right in front of you.
Everyone is different, and that means the approach has to be different too. What works for Brian might not work for Kim. The tactic might be the same, but the way it’s framed in your mind can make all the difference. The challenge lies in recognizing when you’re about to make a decision that doesn’t align with your goals and knowing how to reframe it in a way that works for you.
This is where having someone else to guide you becomes invaluable. When you’re in the thick of it, making decisions on your own can be tough. You might not always see the best way forward, or you might struggle to push through when it gets hard. Having someone there to ask the right questions, to challenge your thinking, and to help you see things from a different perspective can be the key to making the right choices consistently.
Imagine having real-time feedback, someone who can see where your head’s at and help you adjust your approach before you even realize you need to. It’s about learning how to recognize those pivotal moments, how to see them coming, and how to turn them into opportunities for success instead of setbacks.
And that’s exactly what I’m offering you—real-time guidance and support to help you master your mental game, make the right decisions, and build a solid foundation that will help you achieve your fitness and weight loss goals.

My journey began in 2009 with a bar bet that flipped my life upside down. At 25, I was out of shape, smoking too many cigarettes, living off junk food, and binge drinking like it was a job. Then, one night, a friend challenged me to a sprint triathlon, and in a moment of recklessness, I accepted. That challenge led me down a path I never expected—a path that transformed me from an unhealthy lifestyle into an Ironman Triathlete and a 100-mile ultrarunner.
Along that journey, I noticed something in myself—and in others: "It's the ones who could win the battle of the mind, those are the ones who could go the distance." This is mental strength—the mental game. It’s the deciding factor. Have it, and you will go far. Without it, you will always struggle. But if you strengthen both the body and the mind, you will go farther than you ever imagined. With this foundation, you will rise to the challenge and the call to adventure within.
Strengthen the body, strengthen the mind, build the foundation. This is the backbone of Fit Focused Ready. It’s designed to remove confusion, create direction, and build both physical and mental strength. From there, you’ll be set loose to chase your dream and take on the adventure—armed with a real foundation that will get you there.
In 2021, I turned Fit Focused Ready into a reality—a program designed to show people they are capable of so much more than they realize. If you're willing to challenge yourself and test your limits, a world of adventure awaits. There are no limits. So, the question is—what's your adventure?
