Even if all you know about diet is that you shouldn't eat junk food like cakes, cookies, ice cream, or McDonald's for every meal, or if all you know about working out is walking, running, and pushups, you know enough to be in perfect shape because those things actually work. So, if the problem isn't knowing what to do, then what is it? It's simple—the main hurdle you face is you, or more specifically, it’s your brain, working against you. Yes, I know it sucks. That's why I work out with you, so that when your mind starts to go down that rabbit hole of "I can't do this," I can say stop, ask "where is your mind at right now?" and show you how to refocus.

After 15 years of training and transforming from an out-of-shape, chain-smoking binge drinker to an Ironman triathlete, ultrarunner, personal trainer, and running coach, I can tell you one thing with 100% certainty: fitness is a mental game.
